Edward M Porter, 94, of Dunnellon, Florida, passed peacefully on July 25, 2025.

He was born in Burton Michigan and lived in Flint and Flushing areas most of his life.

Ed attended Bendle High School for 12 years and served 5 years in the Naval Reserves.

He was a devoted husband to his wife Jeanne for nearly 75 years and was a loving father to his five children. He was a true outdoorsman with a love for gardening, bird watching, hunting, fishing, and exploring the woods on walks, his snowmobile and dirt bikes. He especially loved sharing these passions with his family. Kite flying was a springtime favorite with his children as well as ice skating in the winter. Ed also enjoyed music and was a drummer in the Flint Symphony Orchestra and the Flint Concert Band for many years.

Ed worked in the medical management field in Fenton, Flint and Kalamazoo Michigan. He had many fond memories of the people and the years he spent with the Fenton Medical Center.

Ed is survived by his wife Jeanne, their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sister and a grandson.

The family will be having a private celebration of his life.
