Barton
October 19, 1927 – September 10, 2022
Edwin John Barton, 94, a proud Veteran of the United Sates Navy, passed away in Cape Coral Florida on September 10th 2022. The son of Ralph and Edith Barton, Edwin grew up in Ogdensburg, New York. He was born October 19 th , 1927 and at the age of 18 attended Clarkson University then enlisting in the United Sates Navy. He valued his Navy service with the rank of Quartermaster Third Class as part of his service during WWII. After the Navy, Edwin attended Syracuse University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), graduating from RPI as a Civil Engineer. Edwin started his Engineering Career at O'Brien and Gere in Syracuse. Then in 1961, Edwin and several coworkers began the Barton, Brown, Clyde, and Loguidice Engineering Firm, known now as Barton & Loguidice today a successful firm, all over the Northeast. Edwin was also a member of the Masons, Power Squadron and the American Legion.
Since retirement in 1992 Edwin had homes in Chippewa Bay NY, Cape Coral FL and Robbinsville NC. Ed loved the outdoors with camping, fishing traveling and spending time with family and his grandchildren. Edwin is survived by his Loving Daughter, Joanna (Robert) Radford of Cape Coral Florida and 3 sons, Jeff Barton, John Barton, Andrew (Deborah) Barton, his Brother Steve (Nancy) Barton. Edwin is also survived by several Grandchildren, Rachelle Radford, Heather Delgado, Maria Radford, Matthew Barton, John Barton jr, Frank Barton and Harrison Barton. Edwin was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Kathryn Barton, his parents Ralph and Edith Barton and his sister Elizabeth Ward.
A service honoring the life of Edwin John Barton will be held on Saturday October 1 st 2022 at 12 PM located at The First United Methodist Church of Cape Coral. The service will also be livestream https://www.capecoralfirst.org/index.html
