Obituary

Mr. Ed Cox, also known as "The Fox" Edwin Cox, was born on August 25, 1942, and passed away on April 20, 2026. He was married to Judy Cox from 1963 until her passing in 2021. Ed served honorably in the U.S. Navy for 23 years and was dedicated to community service as a professional and volunteer Boy Scout leader for 20 years. He notably organized the first Japanese-American Scout Jamboree in Japan.

Ed is survived by his son Troy Cox, as well as his niece TerrieLynn, Amy, Michellene, Pamela, and nephew Andrew. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Michael, Richard, and Don; his second-born son, Todd Cox; his wife, Judy Cox; his mother, Cova; and his father, Edgar.

Throughout his life, Ed enjoyed pursuing his passions as an artist, master gardener, and fisherman. He had a vibrant personality and was known for brightening any room he entered, always sharing a laugh or a joke. A storyteller at heart, he loved to share tales—especially those involving fishing or humor—and appreciated listening to others’ stories as well.

Ed dedicated much of his life to helping others and supporting all levels of scouting. His military service included deployments to Vietnam, the Philippines, Japan, and the Pentagon. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and humor will be fondly remembered.
