Edwin Arthur
Lyman
Dec 25, 1942 — Jun 17, 2026
Edwin Arthur Lyman, born on December 25, 1942, passed away on June 17, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on Christmas Day, Edwin carried a quiet warmth throughout his life — a gentle strength, a generous heart, and a deep devotion to his family and his country. Edwin was also an avid New York Yankees fan and found great joy cheering for his team over the years. He shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Nico, whose companionship brought him comfort and happiness. He also had a deep love for Elvis music and enjoyed the spirit and nostalgia of the 1950s, which remained close to his heart throughout his life.
A proud United States Navy veteran, Edwin served from August 1961 to March 1966, spending much of his service aboard the USS Enterprise (CVN-65). His years at sea shaped his character, instilling in him the discipline, loyalty, and steady resolve that defined him throughout his life. He spoke of his service with pride, and it remained an important part of who he was.
Edwin is survived by his loving wife, Janet; his sons, Ronald and Randy; his daughter-in-law, Simone; and his grandsons, Anthony, R.J., and Derek. His family will forever remember his steady presence, his kindness, and the love he shared so freely.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to honor Edwin's service and lifelong patriotism. Please send contributions to: Veterans Memorial Post 347 P.O. Box 1534 Lady Lake, FL 32158-1534
At Edwin's request, no formal service will be held. However, the family will gather for a day of celebration at a later date to honor his life and the legacy he leaves behind.
“He carried a quiet warmth throughout his life.”
