IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elaine Marie
Matrigali
November 29, 1933 – November 4, 2017
Elaine Morin Matrigali, wife and mother, passed peacefully Saturday, November 4, 2017, at the Halifax Southeast Hospice Care Center, Edgewater, FL.
Visitation is scheduled at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach, on Wednesday, November 8,2017, from 4:00pm to 5:30pm, followed by a prayer service; Memorial Mass will take place Thursday, November 9,2017, 10:00am, at St. Gerard Catholic Mission Church, Edgewater, FL.
Elaine Morin was born November 29, 1933, in North Adams, MA. She married George Matrigali (also of North Adams) in 1954, and had four children to grow their family along the way. Their 53-year life together began in EI Paso, Texas, and George continued his career in aeronautics through New York, Vermont, Alabama, finally landing in Satellite Beach, FL, where he worked at Kennedy Space Center. In 1976, they made a final career move into Virginia where Elaine became a Public Relations Specialist for the Department of Transportation in Washington, D.C. Twenty years later, in 1996, Elaine and George retired from government service together and moved to Edgewater, FL.
Elaine was a loving wife, exceptional mother and loyal friend who never had a bad word to say about anyone. Those who had the great fortune of knowing her will remember a great hostess who threw the best parties on the block. No one will ever replace her talents in the kitchen, where she could whip up a culinary masterpiece for a family of six in a minute. Elaine's strength and love carried her through the loss of her son, Mark, grandson, Matthew, and husband, George. Though the losses were great, she weathered the storms with dignity and grace. Her family receives comfort in faith that she is reunited with them in God's loving embrace.
