In Loving Memory of Eldanisis Rodriguez

Eldanisis Rodriguez, 88, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, in Punta Gorda, Florida, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, Eldanisis lived a vibrant and fulfilling life. She was a proud business owner and devoted homemaker whose resilience and generosity touched many. Her journey took her from the Puerto Rico to the Bronx, New York, to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and then to Punta Gorda, Florida, where she built a life full of purpose, laughter, and love.

Known for her green thumb and her collection of treasured recipes, Eldanisis found joy in gardening, fishing, and sharing meals with those she cherished. She was a warm and welcoming presence, always surrounded by family and friends, and remembered fondly as "the life of the party."

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, cherished sister, and her beloved son, Manuel Soto Jr. She is survived by her devoted husband of forty years, Ferdinand Lugo; sons (Steven) and Nancy Soto of Port Charlotte, FL, and (Franklyn) and Christa Matos of Port Charlotte, FL. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her step daughters, Yarazed Lugo and Yadira Lugo.

Eldanisis leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and joy that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. "Death does not exist; people only die when they are forgotten; if you can remember me, I will always be with you." -Isabel Allende

Please consider donating to St. Jude's Children's hospital instead of flowers. This was her favorite charity and she donated to it for thirty years.
