Obituary

Elizabeth "Betty" Crabb (née Kimball), known lovingly as Mema to all who knew her, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 24, 2025. She was 93 years old.

Betty was born on May 8, 1931, and dedicated her life to serving others, both through her long and meaningful career as a nurse and in the way she cared for her family and friends. She and her beloved husband, Joe "Papa" Crabb, built a beautiful life together raising their four children, Debbie, Donna, Joe, and Mary Jane, in Miami before later settling in the Orlando and Umatilla area.

Mema's love knew no bounds, and her family was her greatest joy. She is survived by Papa and 41 cherished family members, including her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and their spouses. She found joy in cooking, crafting, and—above all—her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.

Mema's love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. While we grieve her absence, we take comfort in knowing she has found eternal peace and joy with the Lord.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date where family and friends will gather to honor the incredible woman she was.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Betty's honor to the Reaching Forward Building Fund at the First Baptist Church of Umatilla. This can be done by mailing your donation to:
