Elizabeth May Penney passed away peacefully in her sleep after a long battle with multiple health issues, on August 19, 2026, at her home in Florida.

Elizabeth May Penney (Clark) was born in Portsmouth NH along with her twin brother Richard Earl Clark on April 25, 1943 to Earl and Dorothy (Lord) Clark.

Elizabeth was married to Hiram Young JR , and together they raised 6 children. Later in life, in April of 1990, Elizabeth “Betty” married her “ soulmate”, Robert H Penney. She spent many years living in the Eliot, Maine and Sanford, Maine area raising a family and later working as a CNA which was her passion. She loved caring for the elderly both in nursing homes and at their homes and she enjoyed this up until retirement. Every patient she cared for was another “family” member to her.

Elizabeth was always up for an adventure, be it skydiving several times, swimming in the icy cold waters of York beach, trips to Disney world, or hopping on her daughter’s horse for a ride! She also enjoyed collecting Flamingos, so when you see them… think of her.

Family was everything to her. Holiday and family celebrations and get togethers with lots of great food and children playing, brought her great joy throughout her life.

She is predeceased by her brother Richard Clark, and daughter Diane Harvey.

She is survived by her husband Robert H Penney of Port Charlotte, FL; and her children: David and Nancy Young of Eliot,ME; Daniel and Donna Young of Eliot,ME; Arthur and Donna Young of North Berwick, ME; Shari and Hal Laurent of Cape Neddick,ME; and Jaye and Kevin Sadler of Port Charlotte, FL.

Elizabeth is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 33 Great grandchildren, as well as 3 Great,great grandchildren. In addition, From her second marriage to Robert Penney, she is survived by 4 stepchildren: Tina Braman(Penney), Donald Penney, Scott Penny, and Jolene Koslowski (Penney); and 9 grand children, and several great grandchildren children.

She will be missed by many, but there is comfort in the wonderful memories, of and with her, that will allow her spirit to live on with all those fortunate enough to know her.
