Ellen Johnson, age 74, passed away peacefully on May 1st at the Cornerstone Hospice House in Tavares, Florida. She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Melvin Johnson. They were married 32 years.

She has four siblings: Barbara Connell, Mary Kay Rose, Will Jones, and Florence Filipowski. Her children are Jeff, Jim, Bill and Susan. She has eight grandchildren who she loved and cherished very much. They are Collin, Cameron, Chloe, Erin, Lauren, Gavin, Evan and Sawyer.

She taught us the meaning of empathy by her example. Her beautiful smile and kindness were extended to everyone she would meet and she never met a stranger. She made every holiday special and would read to all of her children before bedtime. She loved unconditionally. Ellen obtained her Master's Degree in her 40's and went on to teach 3rd grade for many years before retiring.

As difficult as it is for us to say goodbye, we know she will always be with us in spirit. Services will be determined at a later date.
