IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elvira Sabina
Leone
January 18, 1943 – March 26, 2023
Elvira Sabina Leone, age 80, passed peacefully away on March 26th, 2023 in Edgewater, Florida.
Elvira is survived by her husband Luciano Leone of Edgewater, Florida, her daughter Elizabeth Leone of Orangeburg, New York, her son Aldo Leone of New City, New York, her son Robert Leone of Apex, North Carolina and her sister Rosetta Rutigliano of Lugo, Italy.
Elvira was born on January 18, 1943 in Corato, Italy, to parents Fillipo Rutigliano and Maria Leone. After marrying Luciano in Italy on January 2, 1967, they both moved to the United States and resided in the town of Tappan, New York. They built their life there and the couple had three children together.
During their time in Tappan, Elvira was a homemaker. At the time, it was usual for women to stay home with the children while their husbands worked. Elvira was an exceptional wife and mother. She cared deeply for her family, friends and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She was always the first to offer help.
After their move to Florida in retirement, Elvira continued to be a social and active woman who was involved in the Eagles Club of Port Orange, Florida as a Lady Auxiliary for the last six years. She also enjoyed going to the beach, visiting with her children and spending time with her grandchildren. Her family and friends will always remember her radiant smile, her hugs, and the love she always showed for them. Other than with her family, her favorite place to be was on the beach, where she would sit, dig her feet into the sand, raise her face to the sun and listen to the waves and the birds flying all around her.
A viewing is scheduled for Thursday, March 30 th 2023 at the Baldwin Brothers funeral home in New Smyrna Beach, Florida between the hours of 11am and 1pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Elvira's life. Flowers can be sent directly to the Baldwin Brothers funeral home at 1 North Causeway, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32169.
