Eric Brian Howard Fletcher passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, at the age of 92.

Born on December 19, 1933, in the United Kingdom, Eric lived a life distinguished by scholarship, music, service, and entrepreneurship. He was educated at Pembroke College, Cambridge, and King's College, Cambridge, where he pursued his academic and musical studies with great dedication.

Eric served in the British Army, stationed in Libya and Egypt, an experience that broadened his perspective and deepened his appreciation for the wider world. His passion for music led him to a distinguished career as a church musician, serving as organist at Llandaff Cathedral in Wales and later at Westminster Cathedral in London. He also shared his knowledge and love of music as a professor at the Guildhall School of Music in London, inspiring generations of students.

In 1972, Eric emigrated to the United States and began a new chapter in New York City. There he founded Worldwide Music Service, a business that supplied sheet music to musicians and organizations across the globe. Through his expertise, dedication, and personal service, he built lasting relationships with customers worldwide and became a respected figure in the music community.

After a successful career, Eric retired to Florida in 1999, where he enjoyed a quieter pace of life while remaining connected to the music he loved.

Eric will be remembered for his intellect, kindness, devotion to music, entrepreneurial spirit, and the many lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey.
