Obituary

Erika Whitten, 80, of Sanford, Florida was called home on January 22, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was a member of Riverwalk Church and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. In 1966 Erika met an American soldier Don Whitten while stationed in Germany. She has dedicated her life as a wife, mother and homemaker. As a founding Board Member of The Pregnancy Center established in 1998 Erika served faithfully for 25 years as a board trustee. She loved bird watching, gardening, crafts, cooking, going on adventures and spending quality time laughing with friends. As a proud patriot, she became a USA citizen in 1995. One of her greatest joys was serving in Operations Christmas Child and mentoring many women throughout her life. She inspired many with her fighting spirit in battling cancer and the challenges she faced. Erika is best known for her shiny disposition and her signature greeting "I'm okay today"! She leaves behind her beloved husband (Don); two daughters, Andrea (Dave) Krazeise and Donna (Gilbert) Galarza; five grandchildren David (Amy) Krazeise, Daniel (Alexis) Krazeise, Kate Krazeise, Arsenio (Melissa) Galarza, Amber (Josh) Saunders; six great grandchildren, Brayton, Levi, Bryson, Brantley, Abigail & Amelia and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11:00am at RiverWalk Church at 801 W. 22nd Street in Sanford. Erika's final resting place will the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery. In leu of flowers, in honor of Erika, donations can be made to the ministry she loved, The Pregnancy Center 1002 S. French Ave Sanford Florida 32771.
