Obituary

Ernest Barcinas, 46, of Ocala, Florida, passed away, June 12, 2025.

Ernest was born in Germany on October 13, 1978, to Joaquin Barcinas and Florence Lape Barcinas, and spent most of his upbringing on Guam. Ernest was a decorated Army veteran, who loved his family, the US military, and aviation. He was completing a degree in aeronautical engineering at the time of his passing and happily working in the field he was most interested. His Army achievements include: Iraq Campaign Medal w/ three campaign stars, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (2nd Award), Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Good Conduct Medal (3rd Award), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (3rd Award), Aviation Badge.

Ernest was beloved by everyone that had the opportunity to meet him; once he met you, you were his friend, if not family. He had a personality, sense of humor, and charm that made him stand apart in any group. He is survived by his devoted wife, and the love of his life, Meredith Barcinas, his six children, Elicia, Alexis, Presilla, Alejandra, Benjamin, and Charlotte, as well as five grandchildren, Lucas, Leonel, Lei'ani, Mateo, and one not yet named on the way! Ernest also leaves behind his father, Joaquin "Papa Kin," and younger brother, Gabriel, and many family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Florence, and his two older brothers, Paul and Fernando, with whom he is reunited.

There will be a viewing for family and close friends this Thursday, June 26th, from 2pm to 4 pm, at Baldwin Brothers Funeral and Cremation Society at 11250 SW 93rd Ct. Rd., Suite #300, Ocala, FL. 34481. Ernest will be cremated, and we will have a graveside service for Ernest at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513,on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 1:00PM, before his ashes are placed into the veteran columbarium.
