Obituary

Ernest L. Daniels, Jr., affectionately known as “Junior” and “Junebug,” was born on July 8, 1969, to Mary Raglin Daniels and Ernest L. Daniels, Sr. At the age of 56, he departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and unforgettable kindness.

Ernest was known for his friendly spirit and welcoming heart. He truly never met a stranger. Whether in conversation with a lifelong friend or someone he had just met, he had a way of making people feel seen and appreciated. Above all, he loved his mother and his family deeply, and he cherished the time spent with those closest to him.

He enjoyed playing pool and had a sincere desire to learn how to play the guitar. Ernest was also an avid sports fan who faithfully cheered for his favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the Florida State Seminoles. Watching games and sharing in the excitement with family and friends brought him great joy.

Ernest also gave back to his community, volunteering as needed with the Hannibal Square Heritage Center. His willingness to serve reflected his generous and caring nature.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Mary Raglin Daniels of Winter Park, Florida; his sister, Octavia Daniels Reed (Mark) of Tacoma, Washington; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Natasha Daniels, Martravia Reed, Willie Dennard Henry, along with a host of other loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He is also survived by his aunts: Christie Raglin of Orlando, Florida; Emma Jean Raglin of Atlanta, Georgia; Janice Parham of Decatur, Georgia; Veronica Jones Levert (Earley) of Rochester, New York; and Bennie Mae Anderson and Sue Daniels of Orlando, Florida; and his uncle, Eddie Jones, Sr. (Pat) of Eatonville, Florida.

Ernest was preceded in death by his father, Ernest L. Daniels, Sr.; his maternal grandparents, James and Ella L. Parham Ragin; his paternal grandparents, Richard Daniels, Sr. (Viola) and Margaret Elliot Jones (Ben); his aunts, Elinor Mayo, Betty Walker, and Althea Cleveland; and his uncles, Artisha Raglin, Willie Roy Parham, Jimmie Jones, Gerald Jones, Craig Daniels, and Richard Daniels, Jr.

Though he is no longer with us in body, Ernest’s spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His smile, laughter, and gentle, friendly presence will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Hannibal Square Heritage Center or Crealde School of Arts in memory of Ernest Linwood Daniels, Jr.
