RYSSO, ERNEST (Ernie) NORBERT – of Pelican Bay, Daytona Beach, passed away 14 January 2026. Ernie was born in Ishpeming, MI on 24 July 1939 to Arnold Ernest (1905-1987) and Lucille Barbara Tamandl 1914-1980) Rysso. He attended the University of Michigan, with a major in engineering, and pledged to the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity, He also attended the University of Illinois (Chicago Campus), graduating in 1972 with a mechanical engineering degree.
He was a founder of the Austin Healey Club of America in 1960, and this is where he and Gail Garlinghouse met. He held many board positions, including Treasurer and President. He and Gail are Honorary Lifetime Members of the AHC. They married on 4 May 1968 at St. Jerome's Church, Rogers Park, IL.
He is the proud parent of Anne Robin Thompson (Calgary, Alberta, Canada), and Jennifer Leigh Rysso Parisi (Shawn), of Henderson, NV. He is survived by brother Ken (Barbara) and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bob (Carol), maternal grandparents Victor and Elizabeth (Horger) Tamandl and paternal grandparents Mikko Valentin and Ester (Elizabeth Perttula) Ryssy.
He had a long and successful professional life, culminating in a career as a consultant in manufacturing, marketing, and industrial sales.
He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Port Orange. Burial will be in the family plot at Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie, IL.
