Ethel Bryant, 87, of Mims, Florida passed into eternity on September 13, 2026. She was born on December 7, 1938, to Annie Mae (Chavis) Carter and George Almarine Carter in Hazelhurst, Georgia. She was the eldest of five children with two brothers and two sisters. As a child, Ethel lived in Brunswick, Georgia and spent her summers on her grandmother’s farm in Hazelhurst. She graduated from Glynn Academy High School in 1957. Ethel met James Bryant while he was stationed at Naval Air Station Glynco and they married on September 3, 1959, in Brunswick. She resided in Georgia, Virginia, Texas, and Florida with Mims becoming her home. Ethel’s career began as a switchboard operator right out of high school and evolved into the owner and operator of Answerphone of Brevard. She worked in real estate after years as a homemaker and for Belmont Homes. Ethel served as a member of the Titusville Pilot Club. Her family life was centered upon her faith in Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. She attended the First Baptist Church of Mims and Faith Baptist of Titusville. She loved gardening, cooking for her family, reading Mary Higgins Clark novels, and completing puzzles.

Ethel is survived by her husband James Albert Bryant, her daughters Donna DuRant (Dwight), Debra Kent (Rex), and Jimmi Taylor (Ray). Her grandchildren Jenny Briggs (Christopher), Lindsey Brooks (Shawn), Emily Mealey (Bobby), James DuRant (Maggy), Amanda Bryant-Kent, Tiffany Malenfant (Doug), Steven Taylor (Allyssa), Sarrah Nenneman, and Joseph Taylor. Her great-grandchildren Ryan Taylor, Keagan Nenneman, Rylan Nenneman, Maverick Kirschner, Jonah Nenneman, Theodore Briggs, Addison Brooks, Henry Briggs, Winslow Brooks and Janet DuRant.

A private family graveside memorial service will be at LaGrange Cemetery in Titusville.
