Eugene J. Heaney Jr. (Gene), 80, of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away on May 21, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. Gene was born on February 16, 1941, in Hagerstown, Maryland, to Eugene J Heaney and Helen Evancho Heaney.

Gene attended high school in Meadville, Pennsylvania, and later went on to serve in the United States Army. After serving for 4 years, he moved to Rochester, New York, where he met his loving wife, Patty, and they raised their three children. While in Rochester, Gene worked for Eastman Kodak.

In his retirement years, Gene relocated to Trinity, Florida, and then enjoyed a few years on the beach in Panama City Beach before moving to Ormond Beach. Gene had a talent for working with his hands and kept busy with many remodeling projects through the years. Gene enjoyed spending quality time with his family and his beloved puppy, Shelby.

Gene was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Patty and his sister Mary Ann. Gene is survived by his children Michelle (Scott) Cooper, Russ (Kate) Heaney, and Christine (Manny) Margiotta, his sister Helen (Richard) Callan, seven granddaughters, four grandsons, and one great-granddaughter.
