After returning home from the Army in 1958, he continued working at Nunn Bush Shoe factory where he met his wife and the love of his life, Marlene. They would have celebrated 63 years of marriage on Setember 5, 2022. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters (Dawn & Kim) and one grand-daughter (Jenna). Many memories with friends were made talking and dancing in the basement of their Brown Deer home.
Gene was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers, being able to speak to the skills and talent of most of the players on the roster. He was looking forward to the start of the football season.
In 2001, Gene and Marlene bought their dream retirement home in The Villages, FL. Gene was a constant promoter of The Villages lifestyle and would try to sway anyone he spoke with to move to The Villages.

He is survived by his devoted wife Marlene (nee Applebeck) Reinholz; Dawn Stathus (Don Kosovich), Kimberly Anderson (Steve DeQuardo); grand-daugthter Jenna Stathus, niece; Mindy Watson (Ian) and other family and friends from WI and FL.
