New Smyrna Beach – Evelyn Dolores Wheeler, a long time resident of New Smyrna Beach, died Thursday the 29th of December, 2016.   Born in 1925  in Vallejo, California, she was the daughter of Herbert and Bertha Wiker and sibling of twins, Herbert and Mildred Wiker.   Evelyn married Elmore Bernard Wheeler in 1947 and later gave birth to four beautiful children: Dolores Ann Young, Bernard John Wheeler, Steven Mark Wheeler and Thomas Frederick Wheeler.  Evelyn worked for the Federal Government for over twenty years, and loved to spend time with her children, walks on the beach, needlework, and traveling.  In adition to her parents, Evelyn is predeceased by her husband, Elmore, and her brother, Herb.  She is survived by her sister, Mildred Lawson, her daughter, Dolores Young, and her husband, Mitchell; sons, Bernard Wheeler, Steven Wheeler and Thomas Wheeler, and his wife, Ashley; in addition to six grandchildren (Kevin, Brian, Jennifer, Leslie, Lance, and Price), three step-grandchildren, (Destiny, Zoe and Benjamin) and one great grandchild (Landon). In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial gifts be made to Vitas, 2381 Mason Avenue, Suite 100, Daytona Beach, FL 32117.  Baldwin Brothers, New Smyrna Beach, has been entrusted with the arrangements. A funeral ceremony will be held January 5, 2017, at 11:00 AM. Evelyn will be laid to est at Glen Haven Cemetery, Winter Park, Florida.
