Fate
Scott
December 19, 1945 – March 6, 2021
Even today, if you asked Tom how he was doing, you would hear, "if I was any better I couldn't stand it". Tom loved great food, a good bourbon (back in the day), his beloved house on the lake in Rutledge, TN, all of his four legged furbabies (there were a lot) and the woman he spent 54 years (51 married) living an amazing life with, Karen Stidham Scott. He taught his children to be financially secure, cheer on his beloved Volunteers and love without boundaries. He loved his two daughters this much (arms wide open), Kristie Ann Scott and Lora Leanne Scott-Shelton. And, was thrilled to welcome his son in law to the family, another bourbon aficionado, Nate Shelton.
Tom missed the line the day God handed out patience and on March 6, 2021 God decided his patience had run out and called him home. His parents, Henry Alton Scott III and Myrtle Gertrude Dail Scott of Knoxville, Tennessee would have been bursting with pride to see the life he built.
He is survived by his brother who he loved and spoke to almost daily and competed with to be "the one with most toys wins, Henry (Scotty) Alton Scott, Jr. and his wife Melissa. Tom passed along his love of cars to his beloved nephew, Michael Scott. Michael's family including his wife, Karen Scott, daughter Candace, granddaughter Daisy, and son Tyler spent many a family gathering at Tom's lake house eating great food and listening to fantastic music. Tom missed spending time with his niece Lisa and her family.
