Floretta (Etta) W. Burgess, 87, of Ocala, Florida was called home Friday, December 8, 2023.

She was born in Owensboro, Kentucky on September 10th to Martine Vance and Arnold Richards. She was married to Herbert Victor (Vic) Burgess.

Etta was a hairdresser for over 40 years. She was also a cake decorator and plant nursery owner. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Red Hat Society. She loved volunteering in her community and helping those in need. She also loved to travel with family and friends.

Etta is survived by her sister Nadine Hewes, stepdaughter Rebecca J. Hottell (Harry), son John T. Wrains (Cynthia), daughter Kimberly A. Grieb (Christopher), and stepson Herbert Victor Burgess III, 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband H.V. Burgess.

The interment of her ashes will be next to her beloved husband at Bosque Bello Cemetery, Fernandina Beach, Nassau County, Florida.
