He was born in Tuscon, Arizona on February 3, 1951, to Riley and Dorothy. Forrest was adventurous, intelligent, and highly skilled. He was loved by all who met him. He led a full life that included building successful businesses, racing cars, travelling, and demonstrating generosity.

Forrest grew up travelling across the country with his family until he finally settled in Florida, where he lived for the rest of his life. He raised 3 children with his wife Mary (also known as Cindy) in South Florida before moving to Central Florida in his retirement years.

During his life Forrest accomplished remarkable achievements. He raced cars of all types and even built his stock car. To this day he owns the final Limited Late Model qualifying record at the now torn down South Florida Speedway. He also built multiple businesses that employed many and helped build communities and businesses in the state.

Forrest was a big sports fan, sharing his love of the Miami Dolphins with his children, often taking them to games. He loved the Florida Gators as well, many times visiting his son at college for events. He also loved auto racing events, passing down that love to his children.

Forrest loved to travel with his wife. They were able to visit many countries together. He also loved his dogs and had several over the years that brought them great happiness.

Forrest had many grandchildren, nephews and nieces. He loved to spend time with them and impacted each in many different and unique ways. He will always be remembered for what an amazing man he was.

He will be dearly missed by his family who looks forward to reuniting with Him in the arms of Jesus.

Forrest is survived by his wife Mary, daughters Shawna Groenwoldt and Danielle Bertrand, son Brian Smith, brothers Randy Smith, Rodney Smith, and Lee Smith, sisters Susan Chaffee and Kathleen O’Donnell, numerous grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
