Francis (Frank) Louis Lanctot, 92, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 10, 2026. He was tenderly cared for by his family and the compassionate care of Cornerstone Hospice.
Frank was born on January 30, 1934 in Albion, Rhode Island to Louis and Clarinda (Gagnon). His childhood was surrounded with countless activities with friends and family. From a very young age he was an outstanding athlete. He enjoyed all sports, but baseball was his favorite. He was a terrific pitcher who once struck out 18 batters in a single game. Frank was a veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
Frank married Marcia Barnatt on July 31, 1965 and together they raised three children, Christopher, Jennifer and Robert in Millville, Massachusetts. Frank always made sure he was with his kids to play ball or attend their events. He was the proudest fan in the crowds. Frank volunteered his time with the Knights of Columbus where he achieved the level of 4th-degree.
While living in The Villages for the past three years Frank’s daily routine included physical fitness. He enjoyed doing push-ups and exercises with dumbbells, then eventually wall pushes and deep breathing.
Frank enjoyed food of any kind, but a slice of pie with multiple scoops of vanilla ice cream always brought a smile to his face. He had a beautiful voice and would sing songs in French. Frank was a man of great faith and for strength and comfort, he recited his prayers every day. He enjoyed attending daily Mass whenever he was able to do so.
Frank is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marcia Lanctot and his children Christopher Lanctot (Susan), Jennifer O’Neill (Steve), and Robert Lanctot, as well as his grandchildren Jessica Lanctot (Tim), Joshua Lanctot, Evan O’Neill, Lindsay O’Neill, Dominic Lanctot, and step grandchildren Brandon Naylor (Katherine) and Aric Schnase (Brittany). He is also survived by his brother Aldor Lanctot (Betty) and his sister Claire Creighton (Fran).
A funeral Mass for Francis will be at 11:00 am on Monday, October 19th at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church located at: 5323 E CR 462, Wildwood, Florida. The burial with military honors will follow the funeral Mass at the Florida National Cemetery at 1:30 pm. The cemetery is located at: 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, Florida. Following the burial, family and friends are invited to gather for refreshments at the home of Chris and Susan Lanctot located at: 6046 Mulligan Run, The Villages, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wildwood, Florida or a charity of one’s choice.
