Frank Phillip Van Leer Jr., 86, of The Villages, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026.

Born on April 26, 1940, in Upland, Pennsylvania, Frank was the son of the late Frank Phillip Van Leer Sr. and Mae Hannah McCauley Van Leer.

Frank proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant during his service from 1962 to 1967. His dedication, integrity, and commitment to duty reflected the values he carried throughout his life.

A passionate sportsman and leader, Frank was a founding member of the Dallas Rugby Football Club and played an instrumental role in helping establish and grow the organization. In recognition of his contributions and lasting impact on the sport, he was inducted into the Dallas Rugby Football Club Hall of Fame in 2008.

Frank was a dedicated and proud member of the Masons from 2007 to 2026. He served as a leader and mentor to countless brothers, leaving a lasting impact through his wisdom, integrity, and commitment to the fraternity.

Frank was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cindy Van Leer; his children, Darrell Van Leer and wife Amy, Sharon Van Leer, D'et Van Leer, Frankie Van Leer, Sharon Ann Bullock and husband Jeff, and Melanie Courtney; 11 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Robert and Patricia Bartosh, and Edward and Donna Lord, along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will cherish his memory.

Frank will be remembered for his love of family, his service to his country, his dedication to rugby, and his commitment to helping others. His kindness, strength, sense of duty, and unwavering devotion to those he loved leaves a legacy that will continue through future generations.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Colony Cottage, 510 Colony Blvd., The Villages, FL 32162.

Family and friends are invited to gather to share memories and celebrate the life of a man who will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Frank will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cheered on with one final "Go Cards."
