Frederick (Fred ) Brean, age 82, of Ocala, Florida passed away 10-10-2018.  Fred was born on August 20, 1936 in Waukegan Illinois and lived there for 48 years before retiring from Ma & Pa's Corner Store and moving to Hilo, Hawaii. After spending 12 years there, he and his family moved to Ocala, Florida.  He attended West Grade School and Waukegan Township High school in Waukegan, Il., as well as Marquette University in Wisconsin.  He entered the United States Air Force in 1955 and served for four years on Active Duty.  Fred was employed by Dick Cackovic at United Oil previously to opening his own business, Brean's Citgo on the corner of Sheridan Road & Yorkhouse Road, later he and his wife purchased Badger Egg Co for several years, and then opened and operated Ma & Pa's on the corner of Yorkhouse Rd. and Greenbay Rd. in Waukegan until 1983.

He loved and enjoyed his family and loved bowling with the Silver Rollers in Ocala, Florida.  He also enjoyed being a member of Too Your Health Spa where he exercised three times a week.  He enjoyed keeping a journal from day to day while operating Ma & Pa's Corner Store, loved to read and loved cars. Fred was an Elk member in Hilo, Hi., and Ocala, Fl., and a Moose Member in Waukegan, Il, as well as belonging to the Stick and Rutter Club. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan. Fred was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church, St Patrick's Church in Wadsworth, Il., and Blessed Trinity in Ocala, Fl. Left to cherish his memory his wife Suzanne of 54 years, A Son; Patrick Kelly Brean of Sacremento, CA., three Daughters; Lou-Anne (Phil) Wasson of Rockford, IL., Roseanne Brean of Ocala, FL., and Roxanne Lynn McCarron of St. Louis, MO., a brother; Richard (Kathy) Brean of Waukegan, IL., a Cousin; Edda Rinfreshi, Italy.  Five Grandchildren; Shawn Wasson, Kimo Arruda, Keone Arruda, Jamie Lindsey and Morgan Brean. Three Great Grandchildren; Kalena Arruda, Kora Arruda and Kia Arruda.  Many special nieces and nephews and countless friends. Fred was preceded in death by his Parents: Ines and Albert Brean, his Brother: Pauley Brean, Sister: Clara (Dolly) Snider and Grandson: Keaka Arruda. Many thanks to the Gainesville VA Health system, their special staff that has supported and assisted Fred for the care he received over the years.  Also to the Hospice Legacy House in Ocala, Fl, for their care and compassion. A Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Fred and Suzanne Brean in Ocala, FL on Sunday October 14, 2018 at 2 Pm.
