Frederick Charles Hoffman, 87, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away December 7, 2024.  Born in Bronx, New York, he was the son of the late Frederick and Eileen (Roche) Hoffman. He was a Fire Fighter/Officer for the City of Yonkers, New York Fire department for many years retiring as a Lieutenant.  In 1983 he moved from Yorktown, NY and fulfilled his dream of retiring in Florida.

Fred was a member of the International Association of Firefighters and Florida Grape Growers Association. He was an award-winning Wine maker, blogger, fisherman, gardener, and a talented handyman.  Fred was known for his kindness, storytelling and his laugh – it could be heard across a room!  Whether he was sipping wine at a formal party or having beer and peanuts on the boat, Fred had a way of making everyone feel welcome. Of course he might have been most known for his dancing – known as "Fast Freddy" to family & friends alike. Fred also loved walking on the beach or watching the sunset with Kathi from their balcony at Moontide.

He was predeceased by his wife Kathleen M Hoffman who passed away in 2014.

Left to cherish his memory are his children; Alison Pellicier with her husband Felipe and Steven Basini with his wife Denise; grandchildren; Kayleigh Alice Morris, Daniel Basini and Charlie Basini; sister; Barbara Morgan and nieces Teresa Maschak and Deborah Maschak.

The family will receive friends Sunday, December 15, 2024, 2-4pm at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home 1 North Causeway New Smyrna Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 11am, Monday December 16, 2024 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church 4000 S. Atlantic Avenue, New Smyrna Beach. FL.
