Frederick Synton Hopper, 93, of Venice, FL, passed away on October 30, 2023 at his home surrounded by his wife and dog, Billy. Fred was born in Malden, Massachusetts, on July 15, 1930 to the late Michael William Hopper and Jenny Louella Coates Hopper. In addition to his parents, Fred is preceded in death by his son, Frederick Michael Hopper, and granddaughter, Amie Leigh Hopper. Fred is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean Ray Hopper of 54 years; his daughter, Susan Hardy and husband Fred of Englewood, FL; his sons, Stephen Hopper and significant other Bonnie Burrell of New Hampshire, Scott Hopper of Epping, New Hampshire; his six grandchildren; his seven great grandchildren; lifelong friend Denzel Wallace of Massachusetts, and several other family and friends. After retiring, Fred enjoyed taking road trips to Canada on his motorcycle, tinkering with bicycles and making them electric, woodworking, and always enjoyed telling stories about his childhood. Fred was a foodie, he enjoyed going out to eat and trying new places. He watched football and cheered for the New England Patriots and the Buccaneers. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed but precious memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. A burial will be held at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery located at 185 Lake St, Peabody, MA 01960. Baldwin Brothers of Venice is honored to serve the Hopper family.
