George Thomas "Tom" Lomax, 88, of New Smyrna Beach died Friday, September 18, 2009 peacefully in his sleep at the Southeast Volusia Care Center.  Mr. Lomax was born June 1, 1921 in Easton, MD.  He was a veteran of the US Navy.  Tom worked for the Lockheed-Martin Corporation for 40 years. Before moving to Florida in 1977 he and his wife, Shirley lived in Colorado and New Orleans.  Tom enjoyed boating and fishing.  He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Shirley and two children, G. Thomas Lomax, Jr of Hot Springs, CA and Susan Strader of New Smyrna Beach. Private family services
