Gail West Jayne, 72, beloved mother, wife and friend was called to be with the Lord on September 30, 2022. She was born in Brooksville, Florida on July 12, 1950 to Alfred Paul West and Jane Coogler West.

As a young girl Gail excelled in art and loved horseback riding. She was also a dog lover and very much enjoyed teaching her dogs tricks, setting up obstacle courses, and on occasion even dressing them up.

Gail attended Winter Park High School where she served on the Homecoming Court and competed in synchronized swimming on a team which won a state championship. After graduating, Gail spent two years at Southern Seminary College before obtaining a Bachelor of Education from Stetson University.

Gail's love for children and family only grew when her eldest son Will was born. She then began her journey of Mom and homemaker. Her son, Will, would soon be joined by West and Wade, and in 1988 after her marriage to Bill Jayne, Gail would now have five children to include Anna Jayne and Will Jayne. Over the years, Gail would say that her family and their dedication to each other was her proudest accomplishment.

Gail was known for her quick wit, easy conversation and huge heart. She enjoyed reading, learning and sharing her knowledge with family and friends. Gail also loved crossword puzzles, lunches with friends, family gatherings, chats on the beach, games and a great television show. Friends would describe Gail as beautiful, smart, thoughtful, sweet, intuitive and incredibly loyal. The memory of Gail's sense of humor, smile, laughter, kindness and love will be forever present in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Gail was predeceased by her mother, father and son, Will Durham. She was survived by her husband, Bill Jayne and children: West Durham, Wade Durham, Will Jayne, Anna Jayne; and grandchildren: Grace Durham, Luke Durham, Will Durham, Jackson Durham, Winston Jayne, Walter Jayne; and brothers: Al West, Jr. and Steve West.
