Obituary

Garner Robert “Bob” Mallory, age 82, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2026. He was born on September 23, 1943, in Conneaut, Ohio, the son of the late Garner and Pauline Mallory. He graduated from Ashtabula High School and married his high school sweetheart, Judy. They built their first home next to his family’s farm and soon started their own family. Ohio was their home for many years until they finally took the leap to move to Englewood, Florida, in 1986.

Throughout his life, Bob was a dairy farmer, master mechanic, manager of the family service station, and, before retirement, worked in property maintenance.

Bob was a classic car guy, loved all sports—especially his Cleveland Indians—and never met a stranger. He loved getting to know people and sharing his own stories. He felt truly blessed with the greatest family and friends and cherished each and every one wholeheartedly. He worked hard and helped others in any way he could. Bob was extremely proud of his family and shared that pride with anyone who would listen. He enjoyed sharing the love of Christ through every day, ordinary encounters wherever and whenever he could. Bob will always be remembered as a sweet, joyful, and faithful Christian man. The legacy of his kind spirit, passion for sports, and love of laughter and family will live on through them. All who are left behind grieve that he is gone, but celebrate that he is now home with the Lord.

Bob is now reunited with the love of his life, Judith “Judy” (Osten) Mallory. He is survived by his daughters, Joyce (Lou) Doyle of Englewood, Florida, and Paula (Bart) Parker of West Palm Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Lewie (Courtney) Doyle of Port Charlotte, Florida, Maeve Doyle of Englewood, Florida, Ryan (Chelsea) Parker of Ellenton, Florida, and Jill Parker of West Palm Beach, Florida; great-grandchildren Luke and Anna Doyle of Englewood, Florida, and Ethan Doyle of Port Charlotte, Florida; his sister Penny Mallory of Erie, Pennsylvania; brother Perry (Audrey) Mallory of Tampa, Florida; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 14, at 2:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary at Englewood Methodist Church, 700 E. Dearborn St., Englewood, FL 34223. There will be a short memorial service, time for sharing stories of Bob, and fellowship afterward.

The family would like to thank relatives and friends for their support and prayers, and all who visited Bob during these difficult times. You all made him feel very loved and blessed. In lieu of flowers, donations to Englewood Methodist Church would be appreciated.
