Gary Joe Brandt passed away on June 11, 2025, in the presence of his loved ones. Joe as he was known by most, was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 30, 1944, along with his twin sister Nancy. Joe grew up in Bridgeport Indiana where he was active in the Bridgeport lodge and Methodist church. After graduating from Ben Davis High School, Joe served his country in the US Army as a morse intercept operator. He was a devoted member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 41 years, where he found strength and helped countless others on their path to sobriety.

Joe is preceded in death by his father and mother Fred and Iris Brandt, Sister and brother-in-law Ronnie and Nancy Oglesby, and niece Susan Bloskas. He is survived by Sharon Brandt, daughters Stacey Krause (Kevin), Heather Radle (Henry), and Laura Brandt. Grandsons Joshua Radle (Megan), Jacob Radle, and James Krause. Nieces Chistine Hemple (Alan), and Amy Dopson.

Service will be held August 4, 2025, at 10 am, at Sarasota National Cemetery 9810 State Road 72 Sarasota, FL 34241. In lieu of flowers the family is asking donations to be made to Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County.
