Gary H. Cohn, 72, of St. Petersburg, FL and formerly of Oldsmar, FL, passed away on June 30, 2025.

Gary was a beloved retired educator and media specialist who dedicated over 35 years to the Pinellas County Public School System and more than 15 years to the Clearwater Public Library. A kind, outgoing person and a true "character," Gary was a generous friend. Born and raised in Beverly, MA, he was an avid sailor with a lifelong love for the ocean.

A true entertainment enthusiast, Gary was a television and foreign movie buff, a voracious reader, politically active, and a big fan of Steely Dan. He was also a patient and caring father and grandfather, making his kids lunches until they left for college. He and his "best friend" (a pitbull terrier named Zeus) were inseparable, and the life of the Crescent Lake dog park.

He is survived by son Russell Cohn (Rachel), granddaughters Liv and Ivy Cohn, daughter Jillian Cohn Ostendorf (Brooks), granddaughter Iris Ostendorf; his sister, Terrie Banhazl (Peter); his niece Jessie Banhazl (Scott), nephew Brett Banhazl (Alissa); Aunt, Barbara Younger (Joe); and his former wife, Melissa Cohn Bernstein (David).
