Obituary

Gary Gelinas passed into the arms of Jesus May 9, 2019 after living the last decade battling cancer yet recognizing each day as an opportunity to grow in faith.  He loved the Lord and spent most of his days studying God's word. Gary said that the cancer was a gift that allowed him unexpected time to deepen his relationship with Jesus.  He is survived by his spouse of 38 years, Debbie and their 4 children, Son Kadar and Grandson Oziah, Daughter Morganne, Son Zachary and Daughter Zoe; as well as 3 children from a prior marriage, Daughter Jill and Grandsons Justin, Ethan, Oliver; Sons Anthony and Steven and Grandson Dillon.  His kindheartedness and love for his family will be forever treasured.

If one could summarize this man's life in a few words, it would have to be that Gary's greatest passion was to see people accept Christ as their Savior. He was an Elder in the Presbyterian PCA Church after serving as a Deacon of Mercy Ministry. The walls of a church building never restricted his work for the Lord. He ministered to widows, orphans, prisoners, and the homeless, to name a few. He was heavily burdened with a desire to be used to lead the lost out of darkness and save the vulnerable from suffering, especially the most helpless of all, unborn children.

His wife describes her beloved as a man of transparency with an abundant and gracious spirit. He was brutally honest about his own failings in life while holding tight to the forgiveness offered only through Christ. Gary diligently sought God's heart. He understood the desperate need we all share for Jesus' sacrifice, pointing others to the One and Only who rescues us from sin and darkness, therefore, his legacy is everlasting.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Gary's life is being held on June 8, 2019, 10:00 am at Willow Creek Church,4725 E Lake Dr, Winter Springs, FL 32708,
