Gary P. Mater, 77 of 13246 SW 3rd Ct, Ocala, FL, died Thursday at home from end stage cancer.

Born in Leominster, MA, August 27, 1943, he was the son of Peter and Regina Mater and has been a resident of Ocala since 2005.

Mr. Mater was a chemist for Nova Chemicals in Leominster, Ma when he retired due to illness in 2001. He held four college degrees and loved working with children and woodcarving. He was a member of Mt. Zion Lodge of Masons in Barre, and Cradle Rock Chapter of Eastern Star of Barre, MA.

Mr. and Mrs. Mater were married November 27, 1993.

He leaves his wife, Deanne (Kaake) Mater; a daughter, Tiffany Mater and a son, Cameron Mater.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we will hold a celebration of Life in the Spring. There are no calling hours and he will be cremated per his wishes.
