In Loving Memory of Gary Nelson

January 7, 1953 – April 12, 2023

Gary Nelson, 70, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at home after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Diane, and his brother, Mark Nelson and sister-in-law Debbie Nelson, of Fort Myers, as well as his nieces Kelly Nelson, Jenny Brush and Stacy Lessig.

He spent most of his life in Minneapolis, working for the U.S. Post Office at various branches. After retirement, he moved to his cabin in Backus, Minnesota to enjoy golfing and fishing and boating on Deep Portage Lake, and spent winters in Fort Myers, eventually relocating there permanently. His family and friends will always remember him as a good and honest man you could always count on. There is no formal funeral service planned at this time.
