Gene Raymond Elliotte Jr, 61 of Winter Park, Florida, passed away Wednesday, July 23rd 2025, at Advent Health Hospice care in Orlando. He was the son of the late Gene Raymond Elliotte Sr. and Jane Byrd McDonald.

Gene was born on November 15, 1963, in Florence, SC and graduated from St. John's High School in Darlington, SC and Chris Logan's Beauty College in Florence. He was a devoted hairdresser whose artistry, warmth, and care touched the lives of so many over a 40-year career. Gene was a true joy to be around – always laughing, joking, and lighting up every room with his warm spirit. He had a heart of gold and an unmistakably Southern charm that made everyone feel at home. He found happiness in the simple pleasures of life: cooking, painting, baking sweets, and tending to his garden. He always dreamt of spending time in the place he loved the most – the island of St. John. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and love to those lucky enough to know him.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by brothers Steve Elliotte of Florence and David Elliotte (Greta) of Hartsville, SC; sisters, Renee Elliotte of Darlington and Donna Winegard (Raymond) of Florence; nephews, Ray Winegard and Wyatt Winegard.

The family wishes to express sincere thanks to FOG (Friends of Gene) for their compassion and tender care throughout Gene's illness. Their love, support, and enduring friendship meant the world to him and helped carry him though so many chapters of his life.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 5:00 – 9:00 P.M. (service begins at 5 P.M.) at Mead Garden, Azalea Lodge in Winter Park, FL. Please RSVP by August 13th to friendsofgene1115@gmail.com.
