Gene Edward Sorg, Edgewater FL died Friday, April 3, 2015.

He was born in Pennsylvania, served our nation in the US Army and worked as a heavy equipment operator. Gene served on local Honor Guard teams at American Legion Post 17, New Smyrna Beach, AMVETS Post 2 and Veterans' of Foreign Wars Post 4250. He also volunteered at the Southeast Volusia Humane Society and was a friend to all animals.

He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Sorg, mother Lena Sorg, daughter Tara (Don) Hoff, step-children Damian (Jaime) Zuri and Heather (Tim) Boyd, brother Ralph Sorg and five grandchildrentyler Hoff, Rylee Hoff, Gracie Boyd, Mattie Boyd and Conor Zuri.

Burial will be at Plum Creek Cemetery in Plumboro, PA on April 20.
