Genevieve Rose Huston, 1941 to 2025

Genevieve (Gen) Rose Huston (Bellows), 83, of Grimes Iowa, passed away on February 2, 2025 while visiting her daughter in Bradenton Florida. Up until the end Gen continued to share her kindness, love of family and friends, and humor.

Gen was born in Newell Iowa in 1941 to Lawrence Basil Bellows & Blanche Bellows. Gen also was loved by a step-mother, Marie Bellows. Gen attended Newell schools and extended her studies at Buena Vista College. After graduation she continued to share her love for education with many students as she fulfilled many years as a substitute teacher. Gen married Galen Huston on March 17th 1980 in Denver Colorado. He was the love of her life for almost 45 years.

Gen was a devoted mother to Vidra Bernard (Dick Bernard), Lawrence Kitsmiller, Justin Huston, and Holli Bruegge (Doug Bruegge). She also enjoyed many years with all her favorite grand-dogs.

Gen was preceded in death by her parents and her son-in-law Dick Bernard. She is survived by her brother Mike Bellows (Linda Bellows), her husband, and her children who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.

The family will celebrate her life on March 29-2025 at 11am at St. John's Lutheran Church in Madrid Iowa.
