George David Carlsen II
December 24, 1937 – April 26, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of George David Carlsen II, who departed this life peacefully on April 26, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 87 years old.
Born on December 24, 1937, in Omaha, Nebraska, George entered the world on Christmas Eve—a fitting beginning for a man whose life would be marked by generosity, kindness, and an unwavering devotion to his family.
George grew up in California, where he cultivated a strong sense of integrity and responsibility that would guide him throughout his life. Known for his sharp wit, warm heart, and tireless work ethic, George left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Throughout his life, George was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He took great pride in the legacy of love and character he built. His wisdom, compassion, and gentle humor were gifts he shared freely with those around him.
Professionally, George had a remarkable career. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, demonstrating the same sense of duty and commitment that would characterize his entire life. Following his military service, he made significant contributions as an engineer, working with NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) on pioneering projects that advanced space exploration and technology. Later, he combined his passion for innovation and sound engineering by founding and operating his own omni-directional speaker company, where he brought creative vision and technical expertise together to build a business grounded in quality and excellence.
George had an unmatched gift for working with electronics—there was nothing electronic he couldn't fix. Whether tinkering with old radios or restoring intricate systems, his hands-on skill and curiosity were limitless.
In 2019, George moved to Florida to enjoy his well-earned retirement, spending his later years in the sunshine surrounded by the warmth of family, faith, and peace.
His personal passions were as vibrant as his professional life. He was an avid surfer, a lifelong student of health and nutrition, and a man deeply rooted in his Catholic faith. He firmly believed in the values of family, loyalty, the Second Amendment, and lived every day with purpose and conviction.
He is survived by his three beloved daughters, Bridget, Michelle, and Amanda; his four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren—all of whom will cherish his memory.
A celebration of George's life will be held on May 9, 2025, at San Pedro Catholic Church in North Port, Florida.
George David Carlsen II lived a life full of meaning—guided by quiet strength, deep love, brilliant curiosity, and a legacy of service and innovation. He will be remembered always and missed dearly.
