George Nelson Kenton Jr of Ocala FL passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024 at the Cates Hospice House in Ocala. Nelson was born in Milford DE on July 5, 1956 to George Nelson Kenton Sr and Elouise Kenton. He made his career working in retail and was proud of his almost 20 years at Walmart.

Nelson was an easy going person who enjoyed life's simple pleasures. Among his favorite things in life were the Phillies baseball team, bowling at the Milford Bowling Lanes, and going to the Delaware State Fair. Nelson enjoyed volunteering time to umpire Little League baseball in Milford and also coached junior bowlers over the years. Nelson had several perfect 300 games to his credit during his bowling career. After retirement he and his wife followed a long time dream to move to Florida. Prior to moving, Nelson attended the Milford Church of Christ regularly, and then Christ Church of Ocala, until his health issues prevailed. His many prayers around the dinner table, through the years, will be missed.

Nelson is survived by his wife of 27 years, Karen Kenton, stepchildren Bethany Wybert and John Banks, brothers Rick Kenton [Kimann], Marvin Kenton [Carmella], sister Rita Kenton Frost [Thad], and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, "Pop" G. Nelson Kenton Sr in 2017 and his mother Elouise Kenton early in 2024. He will be fondly remembered by the many friends he made over the years, both in Delaware and in Florida.

A private celebration of his life is scheduled in the spring of 2025 for family and close friends.
