George Griffin Leckie passed away on February 13 ^th , 2025, at the age of 87.

George was born on July 6 ^th , 1937 in Lynchburg, Virginia to Harriet and Pendleton Leckie.  In 1955, at the age of 18, George married Beverly Ann Harris before joining the Navy.  They were married 40 years until her death and had two sons, David Griffin Leckie and Lawrence Douglas Leckie.

In 1971 George joined the opening team for Walt Disney World working in the Purchasing department, retiring as a director after 29 years.  During his Disney career George played a role in developing Walt Disney World into the largest theme park destination in the world.

George married Evelyn Kneeland in1997.  George and Evie enjoyed spending time at their Franklin North Carolina vacation home in the Smokey Mountains, traveling to all 48 contiguous states on their Harley, and spending time with their grandchildren.

George was predeceased by his wives Beverly Ann Harris Leckie, and Evelyn Kneeland Leckie.  He is survived by his brother Harry Leckie, and his seven children David Leckie, Douglas Leckie, John Klein, Donna Stock, Karen Schaack, Rob Kneeland, and Rick Kneeland.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that remembrance be made in George's memory to Cornerstone Hospice who provided exceptional comfort to George and family during his final days.

A celebration of life for George will be held at Quest Church in Gotha at 10am on March 8 ^th .
