SPRENTALL George M. "Mort", age 88, of Port Orange formerly of New Smyrna Beach, passed away on October 16, 2017 surrounded by family after a lengthy illness.  Mort is survived by his loving companion, Joanne Butler; 2 sons, Robert M. (Gail) and Gerald; 7 step-children, Deborah, Lynda, Christine, Pamela (Rick), Rita, Valerie  (Dave), and Scott; 14 grandchildren; Malinda, Tristan, Stephanie, Amanda, Adam, Hayley, Jamie, Sommer, Wesley, Faith, Joy, Penelope, Doug and Lee; many great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other family & friends. Mort is preceded in death by his step-son, Danny; a grandson, Mark;  his sister and his parents. Mort was a veteran of the US Air Force, an avid sailor and also loved snow skiing. He enjoyed socializing and was always the life of the party. Mort lived life fully with family and friends, dancing til the end with Joanne. A memorial service for Mort will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 12:30 PM in the Heritage Chapel of Baldwin Brothers Funeral and Cremation Society, 1 North Causeway, New Smyrna Beach, 32169.
