Obituary

George (Bud) Schneider, 82 years old, of New Smyrna Beach, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025.

Bud was born to George A and Edith Schneider (nee Tanel) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After graduating from Menomonee Falls High School, he went on to complete his education at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Bud also proudly served in the United States Navy from 1963 to 1965. He spent his professional years at the Milwaukee Solvay Coke Company, the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, and finally, retired from the Carnahan Corporation. Upon retirement he and his wife, Pat, fulfilled their dreams of relocating from Wisconsin to their favorite vacation destination, New Smyrna Beach, FL. Bud was a lifetime Harley Davidson enthusiast and as such enjoyed many bike trips with friends and family across the country. He and Pat enjoyed traveling and tasting their way around Europe, Mexico, and Cuba. Over the years, Bud enjoyed spending summer breaks with family on Shawano Lake, volunteering at church, golfing, fishing, playing cards, going for bike rides, taking his dogs on hikes around the neighborhood, bowling, playing shuffleboard, and always loved watching the Green Bay Packers play. He loved spending time with family and friends, laughing and 'shooting the shit', and enjoying a good cigar and ice-cold beer with his son, Brian, at their favorite local cigar bar or out on the lanai. Those who knew him and loved him best will always remember him for being quick with a smile and a laugh, his love for his family, and for his wisdom and quiet strength.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, George and Edith, and his sister, Laura Schalk, and his favorite canine companion, DollyE. He is survived by his wife, Patricia, of 32 years; his children, Kelly Gonio (Bill) of Caledonia, WI, Linda Tyma of Pewaukee, WI, David Schneider (Tracy) of Cudahy, WI, Kimberly McGuigan (Shon) of Newberry, FL, and Brian Schneider (Nicole) of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and stepchildren, David Schlidt (Jill) of Oak Creek, WI and James Schlidt (Jennifer) of Brown Deer, WI. He is also survived by his sisters, Zola Renner of West Bend, WI, Francesca Schneider of Slinger, WI, and Lynne Spiegle (David) of Muscoda, WI, his nine grandsons, Andrew, Adin, Adison, Hunter, Ashton, Callen, Declan, Mitchell, and Justin, and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Friday January 31, 2025 at Our Lady Star of The Sea Catholic Church, located at 4000 S. Atlantic Ave. New Smyrna Beach, FL 32169. All are welcome to attend to remember and celebrate Bud's life. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to the American Cancer Society.

We will miss Bud dearly and are so blessed to have called him brother, husband, dad, grandpa, uncle, and friend. We will carry him with us in our hearts and memories, always.
