George Joseph Slobodow, 100, of Ocala, FL passed away on August 4, 2022. He was born in Brooklyn, New York to Samuel and Rose (Adler) Slobodow. George was a World War II veteran who experienced the major battles of Europe, including the invasion of Normandy.

He was married to Vivian for 77 years and was a delightful Poppy. He is survived by his children, Carol Karlin (Cal) of Hernando, FL, Arlen Slobodow (Jean) of Ormond Beach, FL, and Susan Slobodow of Hernando, FL; grandchildren, Raquel Karlin of NY, Marla Sutherland of NY, Clint Karlin of CT, Craig Sutherland of NY, Amber Rose Ballinger of CO, Dylan Staudenmaier of CO, Herbert Slobodow of NM, Lars Slobodow of the US Coast Guard, and Paul Slobodow of CO; great grandchildren, Izybell Staudenmaier of CO, Breslynn Ballinger of CO, Azarious Staudenmaier of CO, Ian Karlin of CT, Mason Karlin of CT, Leah Sutherland of NY, and Beckham Ballinger of CO. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian, daughter, Lynn Sutherland and parents, Samuel and Rose.
