George H.
Swearingen
November 7, 1921 – May 11, 2020
George H. Swearingen, 98, of Cape Coral, passed away May 11, 2020, at Page Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Fort Myers, FL. Born November 7, 1921 in Louisville, KY., he was the son of George Hollis Swearingen and Agnes Louise Moseley. George proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1940 to 1945, during World War II. In the years following, he earned a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from the Speed School of Engineering in Louisville, later working for the Kentucky Highway Department until his retirement in 1987. George was a member of the Kentucky Railway Museum. He was very happily married to Alice Crowley Swearingen who passed away in 2012. George adored their only son Thomas J. Swearingen, who died suddenly in 2015. George's greatest accomplishment was his compassion, as he was always thinking of others before himself. He'll be greatly missed by his loving daughter-in-law Ann Swearingen of Cape Coral, FL., and his three adoring cats.
