GERALD “JERRY” R. MILLER, Age 85, passed away peacefully and went to be with his Lord, on Sunday April 12, 2026, in Ocala, FL. Funeral arrangements are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 9, 2026, at Friendship Baptist Church, 9510 SW 105th St, Ocala FL.

He is preceded in death by his father Vollie Miller, mother Beatrice Miller, sister Sue Boyles, brother Tom Miller and niece Linda Sherrill.

Jerry was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on January 22, 1941. He grew up in the small town of Owasso Oklahoma and went through the 10th grade there. His family moved to Chula Vista California where he graduated high school from Chula Vista High School in 1959. He married Doris E Justice on July 30, 1963, in Cookeville, TN.

Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in July 1959 and served until July 1979, including Vietnam in 1970-71. While in the military, he attended many schools, involving avionics design. He retired as an E-7 Gunnery Sergeant. After retirement he worked as an electronics design engineer in the aircraft industry. Jerry was also an Ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He joined the VFW and the American Legion.

In earlier years Jerry enjoyed riding motorcycles and traveling with his wife Doris. During this time, they were both actively involved in the CMA (Christian Motorcyclists Association). Jerry was also infatuated with all things involving aircraft.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Doris Miller; his son James Miller (Marsha) Leesburg, GA; grandson Patrick Miller (Liz) Ossipee, NH; and one great-grandson Jakob, Chicago, IL.; his daughter Penny Mourick (Curt) Morristown, NY; two grand-daughters Heather and Michelle; Nephew Ron Easton (Carol) Lancaster, CA
