Gerald "Gary" P., Age 67, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on June 19, 2017.  He is preceded in death by father, Gerald, Sr. and his step-father, Carl Sullivan.  He is survived by his mother, Mary Patricia Sullivan; former wife, Nancy Johns; two sons, Erik Johns and Jim (Hillary) Baxter; three grandchildren, Avery, Hayden and Ben. Gary started his college career at Rollins College but transferred to the University of Hawaii where he graduated.  While in Hawaii, Gary grew fond of the local tropical flora and grew to love their beauty.  He later started his own nursey in Sanford , FL called Tropical Fever.  He was fun loving, very sociable, loved the outdoors, the beach, fishing, surfing and all water activities. He never met a stranger and was always ready for a "good time".  He was a sweetheart of a man, kind-hearted and he had a heart of gold.  A Celebration of Gary's life will be held on Friday, July 7th at 2 PM at Heritage Chapel, Baldwin Brothers Funeral and Cremation Society, 1 North Causeway, New Smyrna Beach, FL. 32168.  A surfer's send off for Gary will follow at 5 PM at Bethune Beach.
