Geraldine (Gerry) Dougherty, 81, passed away on June 14th 2025 at home in Punta Gorda, Florida. Gerry was born August 2, 1943 in Pennsylvania to Elenor and Francis Dougherty.

Gerry is survived by her daughter, Nancy Scott (David); granddaughters, Nicole Brader (Joshua) and Krystle Ellwanger; grandsons, Robert Ortlip and Jeremy Scott (Kristen); her beloved great grandchildren, Logan and Lillianna Brader and Billy, Jason and Alana Ortlip; her brothers, Gregory and Michael Dougherty, and very special nieces and nephews.

Gerry was a loving daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She graduated from Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School and later in life obtained her Masters Degree from Cedar Crest College. She used her degree doing what she did best, helping others. Gerry moved to Florida upon retirement and continued on her path of helping others by volunteering at local homeless shelters. She enjoyed painting, going to the beach, sunsets, lunch with friends especially Lynn and Barb, bingo (only if she won) and most of all, visits with her family. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family and all who knew her. A special thank you to the loving staff of Sandhill Gardens, where she called home, and Tidwell Hospice. Their kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.
