Gerard Richard Roy, 83, of Cape Coral, FL, passed from this world to eternal life with Christ on January 8, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 19, 1941, in Springfield, MA, to parents Ernest and Germaine (Dumont) Roy. He graduated from Chicopee, Massachusetts Vocational School which launched him into a life-long career of cabinet making and woodworking.
He was the owner and President of Custom Woodworking Corporation in Chicopee, Massachusetts for over 40 years. He was dedicated to serving his community through involvement in Chicopee Chamber of Commerce and the Fireball Club. He was a past president of the local Rotary Club. He volunteered in organizing the yearly Kielbasa Festival for 20 years. In retirement, he was an active member of the Knights of Columbus affiliated with St Andrew's Church in Cape Coral, Florida.
He was married to his roller-skating sweetheart, Jeanine for 62 years. He was a father to 4 children: 3 daughters: Cheryl, Debbie, Kris, and a son, Larry. He had seven grandchildren. Six grandsons and one granddaughter: Brent, Jonathan, Bryan, Stephen, John, Joseph, and Jessica.
Gerry was full of life and energy; a true entrepreneur, always involved in a project or venture. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball, dancing, cards & games and spending time with his family.
There will be no calling hours. Funeral arrangements to be at St Andrew's Church on February 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
