Gilbert (Leon) Buckner (95) of Leesburg, Florida and Matteson, Illinois with his wife by his side went home to the Lord on February 12, 2019. Leon was born on November 10, 1923 in Southern Illinois.  He proudly served his country in World War II in the Army branch of the military.  For most of his working life he was a Heavy Equipment (Crane) Operator for Local Union 150 Operating Engineers out of Chicago, Illinois.  In retirement he and his beloved wife (Dolores) enjoyed traveling the entire United States, Canada, and Mexico in their 5th wheel travel trailer until they settled in Florida for the winters.  Leon enjoyed woodworking, working on his cars, and tinkering on anything he could get his hands on.

Services for Leon are private and at the discretion of his family.
